Óscar Mercado, COO at PXTV
The Mexican extreme sports channel PXTV, distributed by Alterna’TV, is a finalist in the Sports Channel category of the Eutelsat Awards, that will be held in Rome October 30th. The COO, Óscar Mercado, assured PRODU that this nomination is a boost to continue producing quality content that can reach the countries where the signal is currently aired, and soon to other territories in Africa, Europe and the Middle East. It was a great surprise when they called us and commented on the nominations. We are motivated to generate new and better contents, because, finally someone acknowledges the great job we do. We are happy to be the only Mexican channel in our category, he said. As for content generation, Mercado announced they are working on projects for the digital platform, which will complement its TV grid, where they currently have events coverage, music, lifestyle, original series and weekly newscast. We have a project to begin producing some videos like miniseries for digital in 4K. It is an experiment to keep track of athletes, especially in surf, and to make the broadcast easier in order to reach more TV viewers and from there, enter other cable operators. In November we will probably begin to show the new contents that represent a big change for us, he concluded.
