Delmar Andrade, International Sales Director at Record TV Network reported that Jezabel, to debut on April 23 in Brazil, is the company´s new biblical telenovela that will tell the life of a villain. This new title will be launched to the international market in LA Screenings, although they are having a preview in MIPTV for European buyers.
Record TV has already made 19 biblical productions in the last five years and by 2020 they expect to produce two more telenovelas and miniseries. “We want to conquer, along with international space and market, audiences that do not have the habit of watching telenovelas. Biblical telenovelas are extremely rare in the current market and we had the opportunity to make them with levels, such as Jesús, which is in the first place in US Hispanic through Univision,” said Andrade.
He also mentioned that the biblical novelas they produce have drama, envy, action, a reasonable level of sensuality, elegance, and love triangle. “We have transformed biblical stories into a great drama, into telenovelas. Three-line passages can become 20 episodes. It is Record TVs poetic license, the same all producers have”.
