Telemundo celebrated the 25th anniversary of the legendary soccer commentator Andrés Cantor with a special on-air tribute during its live coverage of the FIFA World Cup qualifier between Argentina and Brazil on Tuesday, March 25.
This April 1 officially marks Cantor’s 25th year with Telemundo, a milestone that recognizes his unparalleled contributions to sports broadcasting.
Widely regarded as one of the most influential voices in soccer, Cantor has shaped the way millions of fans experience the game across the U.S. and Latin America. His unmistakable voice, passionate storytelling, and iconic “GOOOOL!” call have made him a household name, earning him eight Emmy Awards and a place in the National Soccer Hall of Fame.
“Andrés has made his mark on the world of sports broadcasting, and for the last 25 years, he has been the front and center of our soccer coverage, bringing unforgettable moments to our viewers with his passion, knowledge, and unmistakable goal call.
