AT&T México and TelevisaUnivision’s streaming content platform ViX announced a strategic alliance to offer added value for AT&T users and bring more subscribers to ViX. As of Monday the 3rd, AT&T users can subscribe and pay for access to the premium content of ViX streaming service with the first two months free of charge.

Adam Waltuch, VP of Global Distribution and Streaming Partnerships at TelevisaUnivision, said in an interview that this alliance could not have come at a better time given the success of the reality show La Casa de los Famosos and the documentary on the murder of Mexican comedian Paco Stanley, El Show: Crónica de un Asesinato.

GREAT TIME FOR ViX
“The timing could not have been better, this is an unprecedented alliance, and in addition to the fact that we have always been innovative, this alliance also is because it involves a seamless payment process; In addition, this is an extraordinary moment for ViX due to the success of La Casa de los Famosos and all the content that we have launched in these months, we have seen a lot of enthusiasm in the market,” said Waltuch.

“With La Casa de los Famosos we really did it, and it achieved something quite unique, it has managed to combine our broadcast channels, our linear channels, our ViX product, and ViX Premium. We have seen incredible reactions, so this specific AT&T promotion for our platform adds to a great lineup,” he pointed out.

He highlighted that expanding the alliance with AT&T Mexico strengthens their strategy of bringing ViX closer to more people in the country.

AT&T GIVING ADDED VALUE TO ViX
In the same interview, Nayura Rojas, VP of Innovation and New Products of AT&T Mexico, stated that this is an unprecedented alliance, which takes care of multiple aspects, including the security of users’ bank details. This means that subscribers after the two months of promotion will pay by providing only their phone number, which makes accessing the platform much safer and easier.

“In Mexico, 6 out of 10 Internet users have access to a streaming platform and 27% of all Mexican subscribers have three or more accounts. We see ViX as a wonderful opportunity to be partners of ViX and this has been an excellent partnership, where AT&T users will have free access to ViX Premium content for two months by subscribing through their phone number and on the third month paying $119 Mexican pesos (US$6.95 approx.) only using their phone number in a consolidated way, easy and safe,” explained Rojas.

“We are excited to have an ally like ViX that will allow us to continue offering our customers the best of entertainment within a clic thanks to their AT&T number,” said Rojas, “By promoting this type of effort we reaffirm our commitment to connect people with exceptional experiences, offering them comfort and security at the same time.”
