Univision Networks La Banda debuts on September 13th in primetime

On Sunday, September 13th, La Banda, the music-based reality-competition developed by Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), Simon Cowells SYCO Entertainment and Haim Sabans Saban Brands is set to premiere on the Univision Network at 8 pm ET/PT, 7pm Central. La Banda is executive produced by Simon Cowell and Ricky Martin, who also serves as a judge alongside Laura Pausini and Alejandro Sanz, and is hosted by Alejandra Espinoza. Additional producers include: Kelly Belldegrun (SYCO Entertainment), Nigel Hall (SYCO Entertainment), Gert Verpeet (FremantleMedia Latin America), Treicy Benavides (FremantleMedia Latin America), Cisco Suárez (Univision Network) and Macarena Moreno (Univision Network). With a new take on the singing competition show format, La Banda will search the US and Puerto Rico to put together the ultimate Latino super group. Representing all Hispanic cultures, contestants will compete for their place in La Banda and for a coveted recording contract with Sony Music Latin and Simon Cowells SYCO Music. Ricky Martin will manage the winning band. Producers hosted auditions nationwide in major cities including Los Angeles, Houston, New York, Chicago, Miami and in Puerto Rico, as well as via the shows official online site, LaBandaOficial.com. Each week, contestants will be presented with challenges to showcase their individual and collective star power. Fans will have the ability to weigh in on the fate of contestants by voting via the shows social channels.
