Andrea Lobato, Communications Manager at YouTube Mexico
YouTube held in Mexico the fourth edition of its Pop Up Space in the Gabriel García Márquez de Caravana Uno, on June 20, 21 and 22, with the intention of gathering the most relevant content creators around conferences on how to raise the level of their productions, monetize their channels and to share with other influencers. “This is a sample of the efforts the company makes to consolidate itself as the leading video platform in such an important market,” explained Andrea Lobato, Communications Manager of YouTube Mexico.
“On YouTube, you can find videos of whatever you want, and that is precisely what we want: for the content on our platform to grow in quality and reach, for there to be more original proposals, and advertisers to find opportunities, for the possibility of generating alliances and for creators and platforms to continue evolving. We are seeing how consumption on mobiles has grown, which requires different production values. We are discussing all these changes and trends at this Pop Up,” she assured.
Although a fixed YouTube Space for Mexico has still not been confirmed, the realization of more Pop Ups (temporary) has, and the executive highlighted the huge value of this market, after the US and Brazil, for being the country that more hours of video consumes in the region. Regarding the creation of original content specifically for Mexico, Lobato indicated that they didn´t have any plans, but announced that in the US they are developing original content and would soon reveal more details.
